—This workshop teaches the inductive Bible study method.—

Description
- Learn observation, interpretation, and application skills for Old Testament history.
- Learn how to apply these skills to make proper application to your life.
- Study selected passages from Old Testament history books.
- Apply inductive study skills to Old Testament prophecy using the book of Amos.
- Learn to properly interpret Old Testament prophecy books in their historical setting.
- Understand more about who God is and how He works.

How to Study New Testament Letters (Skills Track – 1 day) Formerly titled “How to Study the Bible” and “Overview and Chapter Study”

—This workshop teaches the inductive Bible study method.—

Description
- Learn observation, interpretation, and application skills for a New Testament letter.
- Apply inductive study skills to a New Testament letter using the book of Titus.
- Use these skills to:
- Overview a New Testament letter
- Observe a chapter
- Use a concordance for simple word studies and cross-references.

How to Study Precept Bible Studies (Skills Track – 1 day) fomerly titled Planning and Leading Effective Discussions

— This workshop shows how to use “Precept Upon Precept” courses and the “New Inductive Study Series.”
This workshop is for those who have not been introduced to “Precept Upon Precept” courses and the “New Inductive Study Series.”—

- Learn to effectively study a “Precept upon Precept” lesson.
- Practice inductive study skills using Becoming a Friend of the Faithful God: A Study on Abraham, Lesson 1.
- Learn how to follow God as Abraham did.
- Learn how to effectively study one week of a “New Inductive Study series.”
- Practice inductive study skills of Week 1 of Behold, Jesus is Coming (Revelation).
- Learn how to use the NISS series to disciple others.

|
|
|
—This workshop is for new or experienced Bible students. No experience in Greek is necessary.—

- Learn how to use New Testament word study tools:
- The Complete Word Study New Testament (Zodhiates)
- The Complete Word Study Dictionary, New Testament (Zodhiates)
- Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words
- The New Linguistic & Exegetical Key to the Greek New Testament (Rogers and Rogers)
- Word Studies in the Greek New Testament (Wuest)
- Practice identifying:
- Definitions
- Mood, tense, and voice of Greek verbs
- Learn how these tools and skills are helpful for accurate interpretation.
It is not necessary to bring word study books to the workshop.

Structuring (Skills Track – 1 day)
|
|
—This workshop is for those with some inductive Bible study experience.—
|
- Learn how to observe the logical flow of thought in a passage, chapter, or book of the Bible.
- Practice structuring skills using the book of 2 Thessalonians.
- Use this skill to more easily identify the context, theme, and purpose of a book.
This skill is especially helpful when studying New Testament letters.

Accurately Handling a Difficult Passage in the Bible (Skills Track – 3 days)

|
— This workshop focuses on principles of interpretation. —
|
|
|
Prerequisites
Must have completed two or more “Precept Upon Precept” courses
or How to Study the Bible or How to Study a New Testament Letter workshop
Must complete the pre-workshop study which is sent to participants before the workshop
Description
- Discuss an overview of John’s gospel, observing the repetition in the whole book.
- Learn how to interpret a passage from its remote, immediate, and grammatical contexts.
- Understand the meaning of John 15:1-6.
- Evaluate:
- Eternal security
- Fruit in believers’ lives
- Practice steps for accurately handling a difficult passage using a text in 2 Peter.

Accurately Handling a Difficult Subject (Skills Track – 3 days)
|
—This workshop focuses on principles of interpretation.
The difficult subject for this workshop is “the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”—

Prerequisites
Must have completed two or more “Precept Upon Precept” courses
or How to Study the Bible or How to Study a New Testament Letter workshop.
Must complete the pre-workshop study which is sent to participants before the workshop.
Description
- Discuss an overview of Acts to observe the uses of “baptized with the Holy Spirit” in context
- Learn to carefully observe and interpret a book of the Bible
- Learn when cross-references are the most helpful in the inductive Bible study process.
- Practice forming conclusions based on accurate observations.

How to Lead “Precept Upon Precept” Bible Studies (Leader Track – 2 days)
|
|
|
—This workshop qualifies participants to apply for “Precept Upon Precept” leadership.—

|
Prerequisites
Must have completed at least one “Precept Upon Precept” course in a class discussion setting
Must complete all four lessons which are sent to participants before the workshop
Description
- Be equipped to lead effective Precept Upon Precept discussions.
- Learn how to plan your discussions.
- Old Testament history lesson from 1 Samuel
- Old Testament prophecy lesson from Daniel Part 2
- New Testament overview lesson from 2 Thessalonians
- New Testament topical lesson from Philippians
- Participate in discussions of these lessons.
- Learn leadership skills
- to draw truth from your students
- to help them apply truths from each lesson
- to show your students how to do their lesson
This is a combination of two former workshops: “Precept Leader Training” and “Advanced Leader Training.”
If you’ve taken “Precept Leader Training,” “More About Leading,” or “Level 3 Leadership” this workshop is for you.
If you’ve taken “Advanced Leader Training” or “Leading Different Kinds of Lessons,” you don’t need this workshop.

Discover 4 Yourself How to Teach Kids to Study the Bible (Leader Track – 1 day)
|
|
—For anyone who desires to teach this series.—
|
This workshop teaches how to teach kids the basic skills of inductive Bible study using one of the Discover 4 Yourself books.
- Learn how to teach kids to observe, interpret, and apply God’s Word by marking key words, asking the “5 Ws and an H,” and making lists.
- Participate in class by playing different games to enhance what the kids are learning.
- Be equipped with practical ideas like acting out a scene and doing special projects, as well as ideas on how to use these studies in Sunday school classes, Christian schools, group Bible study classes, home schooling, family Bible study, or a child’s quiet time.
- Each participant will receive one of the Discover 4 Yourself books at the workshop.

Finding Your Place of Service in the Church (Topical Workshop – 1 day)

|
|
—This workshop teaches some basic Inductive Bible study skills.—
|
|
|
This workshop is for new and experienced Bible students.
Description
- Learn what the Bible teaches about spiritual gifts using basic inductive study skills.
- Examine the main passages about spiritual gifts:
- 1 Peter 4:10-11
- 1 Corinthians 12
- Romans 12:1-8
- Ephesians 4:1-16
- Evaluate which spiritual gift(s) you might have and how to use it to serve the church.

How the Bible Fits Together (Topical Seminar – 1 day)

|
—This seminar teaches some main points from each book of the Bible.—

This seminar is for new and experienced Bible students.
- Understand the main points of each book of the Bible and how the Bible fits together.
- Explore the continuity of Scripture.
- See threads of some main themes throughout the Bible.
- Learn Bible chronology from Genesis to Revelation.

Study Program—a new “Precept Upon Precept” course
|
|
|
—This is not a workshop. It is a study of a “Precept Upon Precept” course in the development stage.—
|
|
|
Study Programs qualify participants to apply for “Precept Upon Precept” leadership if they attend the leadership training session the final day.
Prerequisite: Prior to attending, complete the first lesson, which will be sent to you.
Description
- Study a lesson per day.
- Participate in a discussion each day.
- Watch two lectures per day:
- One recorded
- One live
- Each afternoon, study the lesson for the next day.
- Attend leader training on the last afternoon if desired.
